Why I'm Running
A Message from Adam DeRito
Friends and Neighbors -
I'm running for Congress because I've seen firsthand what happens when government fails the very people it was built to serve. I've lived through it.I've fought it. I've spent my life standing up to it.
From my time at the United States Air Force Academy to my service as an Army Civil Affairs Officer, I've witnessed the best of America and the worst of its bureaucracy. I've seen brave men and women silenced when they spoke the truth, and institutions protect themselves instead of those who serve. I decided long ago that silence is complicity.
That's why I took on the system and fought for justice through the. Military Mental Health Protection and Justice Act, legislation designed to protect service members and hold the military accountable for medical negligence and retaliation. I didn't do it for recognition. I did it because it was right. That's the kind of leadership we need in Washington.
My mission isn't just about reforming the military. It's about restoring trust in government. It's about standing up for the people who make this country work, the welders, the farmers, the oilfield hands, the teachers, the veterans, and the small business owners who get up every day and keep Colorado strong.
These are the people l've worked beside, and these are the people 'll fight for. The ones that have been ignored for years. Colorado's 8th District deserves a representative who understands the value of hard work, who knows the cost of freedom, and who isn't afraid to speak the truth, even when it's uncomfortable. Our district sits at the crossroads of energy, agriculture, and innovation, but it's been ignored by politicians who care more about headlines than hard realities.
I'm running to defend the industries that built this state, to protect our critical infrastructure workers from reckless policy, to secure our border, to strengthen our schools, and to ensure that the next generation inherits a country grounded in faith, family, and freedom.
I'm not running to join the establishment. I'm running to challenge it.
I'm running because leadership means having the courage to tell the truth, even when it costs you. America is worth fighting for, and Colorado is worth leading for.
This is my home. These are my people. I'm ready to fight for them.
Bold. Proven. Principled.
Sincerely,
